Being a Portsmouth fan I really do feel sorry for Stockport. They've only finished in the top half of a league twice this century despite the relegations.

It's a shame that XC left Portsmouth when the voyagers were introduced, it would probably have an hourly train to Reading, before going north these days if they did stay.
Also a shame that XC don't serve Brighton as the Brighton - Great Malvern train could start at Portsmouth, giving the unit...
How frequent is the Westbury - Soton sprinter? If they were to extend that to Pompey, then that would sort that end of the journey out. Most passengers who start between Soton and Pompey are usually looking to get off at Westbury for connections to the south west.
SWT could help out too, if they...
I've been trying to find out when the Phil Sayer announcements were first used at stations, I can't actually find a specific year. Does anyone here know it?
Thanks in advance :)
Hello, I saw you posted some old W&W times for bizzare services in a topic. I was wondering if you could tell me all the ones that arrived/departed Portsmouth that are not on there.
Thank you in advance
I knew you had lost some of your best players but I never realised the replacements were that bad! You're just asking to be regulated fielding a team fit for a side to stay up in league 2. If you can get a new manager he might be able to shuffle the lads and squeeze the best from them, Appleton...
How an earth did Scunny fail to win when they were 1 up, with Sheff united down to 9 men.
Portsmouth will be going down too at this rate as we will probably have another 10 taken off, early days yet though.
Perhaps this is a bit older then. This is still worth a look though, there are maps of the first and second phases and then the one I picked out, the HSL train routes...

Do FGW still operate the Westbury - Soton train? If they could extend that into Pompey and get the timings right then they could make Pompey's connection with Soton and Westbury every 30mins with the Cardiff train. That is if the service is once an hour of course.
The later plans for the line don't actually seem to stop in Gosport at all
It must be the diversion after the navy not enabling it to go through Gosport. This service will go via Fareham and Netley, cutting the service by 10mins and providing more an hour. Not only that but with that...
Well a long time ago the idea was for it to shave off time from the current journey time on a fast train (about 40 mins).
This would have increased the frequency of services as the only fast one is a 3 car 158 to Cardiff every hour.
Ah that's a shame, surprised I couldn't find anything about what happened online.
It would be nice if Southampton do get a heritage tramway, but i was hoping for a fast connection between the two cities.
