Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

That’s a fair improvement although I suppose that relies on someone remembering to make one! The drivers were awful at not announcing the platform changes. I still don’t understand why they can’t update the screens, it’s a bit inexcusable given just about every other transport hub manages this!

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Other than cost cutting, is there a reasoning behind this? I don‘t have much confidence these ambassadors will be around at times they are actually needed or, as is a bugbear of mine, be proactive in assisting with platform changes (especially when they change it from say 11 to 3 and say nothing…)

This sent out some terrible signals…

Are Paper Bus Timetables still in your area?

Can‘t speak for Highlands but Bluebird haven’t had them for a long time sadly.

Air Charter Scotland (PSO Wick to Aberdeen)

I’ve done it, was fairly easy. The walk from Wick airport to the town centre isn’t far and there’s also a bus that runs (or did when I did the trip two years ago) and it left me time to get a quick bite to eat before the train. I also broke the journey in Inverness but a pleasant enough trip. I...

It’s good to see the Buchan services going back to half hourly in the evening, from a personal point of view.

ScotRail "Tattie Holiday" Pass - "Non Transferable"

Can this be used by a solo traveller? The t&c don’t seem to say no.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

That would make sense, will be interesting to see how well it’s used. I work up that way so will keep a look when I can. I think you’re right re x27, think it was that rather than 172.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Will be interesting to see how long the 737 lasts. I think this is the third route linking the airport and Dyce station after the Jet 80 and the 172 (I think). I do wonder what the logic is in running it to Blackburn, perhaps for connections from the Inverurie side?

    Gigs or concerts attended

Well your last comment was spot on. Seen them before but, again, they did not disappoint! I had avoided reading anything to do with set lists etc which gave a couple of surprises, pleasantly I may add. I hope you managed to get a ticket for another showing!

I’m seeing them in Glasgow tomorrow so looking forward to it, although Halestorm aren’t supporting (sadly)

    Amtrak Northeast Corridor

I remember getting the north east rail pass in 2006 (long since discontinued) and basing myself in Newark, I made a lot of use. It’s a great line and my regret is not going as far as Boston.

    First Aberdeen

A bit gutted the Ellon one hasn’t made a comeback but I’ve adapted my evening plans since they stopped pre Covid, going out and finishing earlier so I don’t think I’d make much use of it. I’m guessing it didn’t do too well over the festive period in terms of loading (there were a few issues with...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Unfortunately I’m in Blackdog and the 64 route doesn’t appear to come past so I’ve lost that, unless Bus Times has the route wrong but it appears that it cuts over to Belhelvie from Balmedie and resurfaces onto the main road at Murcar. I always wondered if the X63 route could ever be diverted...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

The proposed 62 changes are awful, it’s the only service that goes past me and the reduction to every two hours has meant I must stop using the bus as it essentially no longer runs when I need it. Think it’ll be driving to Dyce and train from now on! Just looking at what’s on bus times...

    Ember: Electric coach service

It would, with the unpredictable nature of the stagecoach Buchan services, I have to leave at least an hour for a connection time, ie if my coach or bus is at 1500 from town, I would need to get a bus scheduled to arrive by 1400 just to hope to make it, due to frequent late running or...

    Ember: Electric coach service

Living on the Buchan corridor, this would be a godsend if it happened so I wouldn’t have to rely on the unpredictable Stagecoach route. If they can sort out the logistics such as charging stops etc, I can’t see why this wouldn’t happen.

I read on the latest Aberdeenshi Council bus forum minutes that there are new night services being planned by Stagecoach on the Westhill corridor, with the Banchory one being tendered for but not operated by stagecoach. Anyone know about this?

Off-board fare purchase on bus systems

Stagecoach Bluebird used to have a person selling tickets at the Ellon Park & Ride in the morning peak which vastly improved boarding times. I’m not sure if they still do these days though.
