SWR Delay Repay - utter stupidity

The OP planned to travel from Clapham Junction to Staines taking the 07:58. I suggest claiming Delay Repay on that journey.

    Bletchley Line to Euston/Zone 1 Contactless Prices/Caps

Yes, I wanted to find the “unpublished extension fares”. My queries are about extension fares at stations on the Bletchley line. I don’t want to pay contactless on my intended journey if it is cheaper to use a paper ticket with a railcard. However a friend (who does not have a railcard), and...

    Bletchley Line to Euston/Zone 1 Contactless Prices/Caps

I am looking for the detailed fare calculations when using contactless on the Bletchley line to Euston/Zone 1. I have looked at https://www.londonnorthwesternrailway.co.uk/tickets-discounts/train-ticket-delivery-options/pay-you-go-contactless and...

Booked anytime day return with railcard on Bletchley line. Selected new e-ticket option. Final booking step errored twice (each time after payment processing was done). Used old option of collection at station successfully instead. I had thought e-ticket was still not an option for railcard users.

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

Thank you - that was the solution. i had not seen that value much later in the dropdown list possibly owing to the UI on an iPad. After experimenting, if I type “Zone 1“ I can easily isolate the right value and select it The forum software seems to automerge replies The following is a...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

I cannot select “London Underground and DLR Zone 1” on the website although I believe I can book Zone 2 and Zones 1-2. I can select “London Underground Zone 1” on the app. When my booked upcoming journey is shown on the app, the destination is shown as the corresponding London Terminus station...

    Mobile Ticket App

Which mobile ticket app has the best ticket coverage and/or useful extra functionality? I travel in the East Midlands, South-East and London. Currently I use the EMT app since it allows more journeys than LNER. Southern uses the Key, so not an app, and has limited coverage. The Virgin Trains app...

Super Off-Peak Tickets with Restriction LK (SUPER OFF-PEAK (W COAST - EUS))

Thanks, so I don't need to consider the unpublished restrictions which are intended for use by computerised journey planners and online booking systems? I just use http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ticket_types/restrictions/LK? Thanks, and if it is from BLETCHLEY to ZONE U12* LONDN Route VIA LONDON...

Super Off-Peak Tickets with Restriction LK (SUPER OFF-PEAK (W COAST - EUS))

Please what are the LK (SUPER OFF-PEAK (W COAST - EUS)) restrictions when the train does not arrive at, or depart from, Euston, for example if I take a train between say Bletchley and Harrow & Wealdstone? Specifically, can I use Southern at all, and if so are there any timing restrictions? If I...

Checking splits - Birmingham to London 1st Class Day Return with Virgin.

As well as splitting at Wolverton (as on the earlier reply), you might also split at Whyteleafe South and then not split at Birmingham Int'l. However, this extra second reduction is small ~£0.46. The Seven Day Standard Season would cover from Whyteleafe South to Caterham for NRCoC 19c...

Checking splits - Birmingham to London 1st Class Day Return with Virgin.

I'm presuming is DSB at 34% discount. So I think also splitting at Wolverton will also marginally reduce the cost using NRCoC 19(c). Rugby - Wolverton. Day 1st Return (FDR) (Any Permitted) £19.14 Wolverton - Milton Keynes Ctl. Day 1st Return (FDR) (Any Permitted) £4.48 £23.62 v £25.60.

Fare Oddity: Stockport (SPT) to Manchester Piccadilly (MAN)

I didn't realise the ticket was to Manchester Central Zone! The ticket issued was to Manchester Stations. I've subsequently checked on the LM website. If one puts in Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly then the £4.80 fare is shown (and states in the details Manchester Central Zone). If...

Fare Oddity: Stockport (SPT) to Manchester Piccadilly (MAN)

Thanks Indigo2 and hairyhandedfool - that's clearly what happened. As a customer am I expected to state that I need a ticket to Manchester Central Zone rather Manchester Piccadilly to be sold that ticket?

Fare Oddity: Stockport (SPT) to Manchester Piccadilly (MAN)

Earlier today I tried to buy a First Anytime Single from Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly for the first time this year. Last year it cost £4.80 and was routed Any Permitted. The ticket seller at a local London Midland station could not find the ticket and showed me the screen - I couldn't...

Milton Keynes Central to Manchester Piccadilly

Did the Wolverton split as well today. Again no issues apart from having to answer the question "what are all these tickets then?" even though I'd pointed out the season ticket when I handed over the 6 singles, season and photocard. Something said along the lines of "all those tickets for...

Thanks for all the responses and ideas. I've eventually gone for the following at £72.90 as I decided on First Class: Milton Keynes Central to Rugby Anytime Single - £18.80 Rugby (via Tamworth) to Rugeley Trent Valley Anytime Single - £ 20.00 Rugeley Trent Valley to Stoke on Trent Anytime...
