Out for my walk this morning around Netherfield Lagoons (not as exotic as it sounds but still a pleasant walk)
The route takes me past the old Total oil terminal where DATS stabled their electric test trains a couple of years ago
I don't think it's seen a train for about 18 months
I was there in...
I sent an email to EMR about their lounges and got this reply
I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment that the first class lounges being closed during your recent visit.
We have taken the difficult decision to close the first class lounges at the moment, and use the space as additional...
Interesting comment from TM that 5 cars was usually just about manageable for the 20.05 as the EMR seat finder puts this service in green on weekdays
just how reliable is that seat finder tool as on some journeys i've made it bears no resemblance to reality/
After some use the seats have become a bit more comfortable,my 1st journeys on GWR & LNER class 800 series trains left me in pain, now the same length journeys (just short of 2 hours) are no problem

Crewe-Stafford no
Stafford-Crewe to my surprise yes
Crewe-Carlton no
Had to buy tickets at Crewe, good job i'm honest,I could have spent the day at Crewe for nothing
Just how much revenue is being lost?
I believe (though not 100% sure and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that the other entrances are unchecked because they are the route of a public footpath and the council won't allow checks
The footpath was until around 1990 on a footbridge that had no steps on to the...

43054,43066,43076 & 43089 are working D.A.T.S. trains from Rectory Junction (ex Total oil sidings) Nottingham
Not sure whether Locomotive Services Ltd or DATS are leasing them
I'm not using a mask, if the become mandatory on trains I will stop travelling.
It may be of slight use in protecting other people If you have Covid 19 but you are putting yourself at greater risk of health problems
Have a read of this to see why I'm saying that...
