    Easyjet news

I follow a group on Facebook that are promoting Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Their latest promotion is easyJet are ditching LBA and moving to DSA so saving it. Somehow I don't think so seeing easyJet only operate 12 services per week from LBA. Hardly going to help DSA. Coincidentally is about...

Bus services that enter private property (except shopping centres/supermarkets/works only)

When I lived in Cyprus there was a bus that went from Larnaca to Ayia Napa. This would go through the Sovereign Base Area at Dhekelia.

    Freedom Pass Inspection Curiosity Question

When I worked at the LT Museum I would often exit at Leicester Square Stn. There would regularly be plain clothes inspectors on duty in the morning. The summer uniform included shorts so when my staff pass caused a beep on the gate the inspectors would always ask for additional ID. Fortunately I...

Talking of Loganair. I have just checked the price of tickets between Aberdeen and Kirkwall. Absolutely phenomenal.i thought it was expensive enough a couple of years ago which made us decide to drive up to Orkney but now it's totally ridiculous. I can get to Fuerventura for less.

    Caledonian Sleeper

The current offering is somewhat eye watering even with my wife and I holding PTACs. That's if we could get a classic cabin.

Metropolitan line special - Sarah Siddons and 1938 stock outings

I would like to add from a former Coach Steward on the Steam on The Met that the heritage trips are great events, although hard work very rewarding in seeing how people are enjoying the journeys. I know there were no kettles on the trips but the 38 stock still makes for an interesting day.

    Milton Keynes Coachway

It was a very similar thing at MK. I was working there the day of the incident. Mrs Pitdiver had come pick me up, I was just getting my things together and bang. The wife who used to work with glass said that when the glass was fitted no allowance had been made for expansion or contraction. I...

    National Express Coaches Discussion

As the ex Customer Experience Manager of Milton Keynes Coachway I was surprised to see how the standards at the Coachway have slipped. Closes at 1700hrs so there is nowhere to shelter in bad weather, The ticket office is no longer open and the cafe is apparently terrible. How things have changed...

    Winding back the railway clock

The thing I remember about the 60/70s was the ability to send your luggage in advance. Drop it off at your local station a few days before you go on holiday and amazingly it would appear at your holiday lodgings. On the way back 2 weeks later have it collected and again a few days after getting...

Metropolitan line special - Sarah Siddons and 1938 stock outings

In answer to question " Do the coaches get hot" the answer as far as the 4TC stock is concerned is yes it does. I worked on " Steam on the Met for 4 years and it was always and sticky. As far as 38 stock is concerned I've never on that when it was warm but I would imagine it would be.

Does the UK have a "premier" main line?

Just to put a spanner in the works. How about the Metropolitan Line as the premier. I don't know if any ex or current LUL employees would agree?
