Has anyone heard anything about any changes that may be made to this system in the near future once the "re-nationalisation" process begins?
i.e. SWR is about to cease to be a FirstGroup TOC, will they carry on getting FirstGroup reciprocal travel (and GWR with SWR etc) until this process has...
Use of the barrow crossing at Hereford used to be (and possibly still is) part of the training for new on board trolley hosts at Arriva/TfW. Only ever had to do it in anger once and it was a bleddy nightmare given the gaps for the rails are only millimetres narrower than the circumference of a...
Is there a modern, up to date list/gallery of the ones currently in use? I noticed in a social media post that Guildford has recieved one and NR only took over responsibility for that station in 2018, a long time after the icons were first used.
Manchie before ours was a late F&S 150/2.
Loads of room on our 3 car. We've caught it up in Salop. Wonder how many folks would have preferred to take the hour delay in favour of a slightly more comfortable journey
Not according to RTT or PIS. Probably needs a clean in the sidings or something. But given the amount of shuffling that's already happened today, who knows any more
Only people who want a rail link between Carmarthen and Aberystwyth are people who are triggered by having to "travel through England" to get to Aberystwyth from Cardiff.
Well this is encouraging ; not.
1W19 this week has been:
a 150 (acceptable but my god)
a 3-car 175 (bearable)
a 2-car 175 (oh no)
and only on 2/5 days a loco-hauled MK4 set (yay)
I'm dreading Monday and getting ready to leave earlier if necessary
OK cool. We're travelling in 4 weeks to Manchester Airport via Crewe with a couple of cases and I think the more room the better; although oddly I think the best option for us otherwise would be a 150!
Once worked a 150 NWP-Holyhead which was then swapped for a 175 at Chester on the return journey. Was fun trying to get a trolley onto an already packed train at Chester which had been sitting there waiting for us for some time.
