Hello all, I am currently a driver with FGW and I've been invited to a assessment by FTPE. Can anyone shed any light on what I am to expect in a qualified assessment?
Kind regards in advance
Andy
Unfortunately this kind of incident happens all the time , I have witnessed a fair few railway incursions especially around stations. And again in my experience this is a problem mostly committed by the "older" generation , There is a general lack of respect and danger of the railway environment
There is also the small matter of TPWS+ to consider . The aim of the game, of driving trains is to do it as safely and comfortably as possible. Nobody will thank you for racing towards a restrictive aspect. & anyway if the bobby is slowing you down or stopping you. It's Network Rail's time not FGW.
Very sad news indeed!
However, when will these people learn!! As a train driver there are plenty of crossings where I hold my breath as I approach, wondering if some idiot is about to remove themselves from the gene pool

Well that's my first few trips solo, what an amazing feeling, it doesn't feel like work! I am very lucky to be in this position. It does take a lot of hard work and a liberal pinch of luck. But it is the best thing that I've done in my life.
I'm pinching myself, that I've actually got this career
Hello everyone, I am posting this to thank everyone on here who provided help and support. As I have just qualified as a Train Driver. For those trying there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I hope it's a green one
Hi all, I'm looking for an original train drivers leather bag, I've tried looking on footplate equipment, then eBay. I'm now running out of options. Any suggestions please?
Only 2 days after an accident on a Level crossing in Oxfordshire, I find myself approaching a foot crossing on the same line when a woman strolls out in front of me to catch my train!
I find it incredibly annoying that when there is an unfortunate incident at a level crossing. The medias...
Good morning rail fans
As an almost train driver, I now understand that trains are powered by caffeine. And that diesel and electricity are overrated.
To assist with my craving, my wonderful gf has spent an awful lot of money on a tassimio coffee machine. Which states that it comes with a £20...
