It doesn’t really matter. All it shows is that railway staff have reacted poorly when showed a valid code but in a different format.
Therefore it follows, as per post #1, that staff might “quibble” and show resistance towards them.
In this case, the member (although they didn't return to answer further questions by the forum) that they were issued a penalty fare notice because their partner screenshotted a ticket and then sent it to them.
In this case, reported in the media, CrossCountry reject a ticket because the...
Really? We've seen plenty of cases on here where staff suggested a ticket was invalid because it was a screenshot of the QR (Aztec) code as opposed to the "official" pdf or other delivery method.
Also seen many cases where members of staff incorrectly interpret the fields around the QR code...
That's good news, TfL would've almost certainly prosecuted you but GTR are amenable to settlements.
I have noticed "TfL" is now becoming colloquially used to refer to all the transport services in London, even when ran by other companies. A lot of people don't appreciate the difference...
Nearby, Southeastern's Hastings line has been badly hit.
One of the worst services I can see is 17:45 London Charing Cross to 19:29 Hastings which has only ran on time once since June.
A lot of services being cut short at London Bridge as a result.
Even without this dry spell, the Kent AM...
Getting very boring and very repetitive. Happy to see SWR making a return next week. I also wanted to see them follow actual gateline/train revenue inspectors. Would also be nice to see any other TfL mode.
Personally I think it’s a complete waste of resources for the bus inspectors to waste...
I'm going in that direction next week so I hope I can make use of the B23's in both directions of my journey.
....provided they've survived today's rain? (if anyone has any updates on how they've performed today....)
Last time they were in service, I spent about 30 mins waiting at Woolwich...
Yep. Not to mention that AC can fail during hot weather on trains with unopenable windows.
During the Loughborough Junction incident last summer (which itself would’ve seen uncontrolled evac’s if not in such an awkward location) - very hot on the day, the passengers opened the doors for air...
Just wasn't very clear in the video if she made any effort to ask them to fold the buggy prior to the recording. She has a fatal misunderstanding of the policy ("Priority only applies if the space is empty" - wtf does this even mean, in what world is that "Priority"?) so I struggle to sympathise...
There has been a track circuit failure at Linford Street Junction for quite a while now. Obviously they are under no pressure to fix it. Not sure the curve has been used since 707s moved from Waterloo to Gillingham (Kent). The berth originally had 'TCF' but it's been changed to 'FAIL'.
That is correct, but OP has not stated whether that happened or not. So I am surprised members are able to declare with such conviction that it would not be a fruitful endeavour.
And the quite a lot (dare I say majority?) of customer facing Southeastern staff now have BWCs. The OPs account...
And we don’t know that they weren’t turned on?
If OP is unsure about this (whether the staff in question were wearing BWC and whether they were recording), surely it follows that the should submit the request anyway as there is a chance it might be fruitful?
And there’s little to lose? (Even...
Here is a video doing the rounds on Twitter

A father with their son in a wheelchair are denied boarding from a London bus while multiple buggies occupy the wheelchair area. The driver tells the father that priority only applies “if...
So they have video evidence of the encounter, for their own records?
Especially if the staff in question had Body Worn video Cameras. And especially if Southeastern go onto deny the wrongdoing of their staff/reject refund requests?
Steve White is still MD of Southeastern/Kent route. I don't think an attempt to reach out would go amiss. I believe the MD of LNER was responsive to a very similar situation on the forum? Either way, I'm sure this matter can be dealt with by way of a formal complaint.
