The right forms are online now but it does state 3 tokens needed from the Johnston Press newspapers and only 2 tokens needed from the Trinity Mirror newspapers-would ticket office staff realise if you used Johnston Press tokens on a Trinity Mirror form??
on the Virgin Trains East Coast page it doesn't show fares but Virgin operate a bus from York to Whitby leaving York at 08.26, 10.47 and 14.47.
It shows it as being operated by Virgin on the timetable too.
a few years back there used to be a Rail Ale trail leaflet published for the Penistone line but I've not seen it for a few years. Has anyone got a link to this leaflet?
I know the trail got very busy with Huddersfield and Sheffield Uni students on a Saturday!!

I found to travel from Manchester Airport to Sheffield on the Trans Pennine Express site was quoted £21.
The same train from Piccadilly to Sheffield was £8 so I bought a single from Manchester Airport to Piccadilly for £5 saving £8 on the fare.
Crazy airport premium.
Newsquest tokens and forms are valid from7/01/2016-20/03/2016.
Johnston Press tokens and forms valid from 25/01/2016-20/03/2016
Local World tokens and forms valid from 11/01/2016 until 20/03/2015.
So go for the Newsquest newspaper tokens.

The Telegraph and Argus (a Bradford paper) is currently advertising that it will be publishing the tokens for the Northern Rail offer in their newspapers from 16th until 26th September 2015.
Have never heard of the 'Overnighter' fares.
Do all train companies issue them or is it restricted to Great Northern?

Even with the cost of postage and the newspapers total cost for the day would still be under £20.
although the Northern Rail ticket isn't valid until 8.45am so would have to add on the cost of a single...
I was once on the Newcastle to Carlisle train and a guy had got on thinking it went to Darlington-he got off at the next stop-Dunston-but I think he had a few hours wait before another train was due to stop there again!!
