Just heard on BBC Southeast news that Southeastern is having talks with the government about extending its franchise beyond April and wants exclusive access preventing any other operators, given that they've already had previous extensions, how is this right?
As the title suggests, I was wondering what people's dream/fantasy train would be.
Mine would be a 2EPB top and tailed by deltics being absolutely thrashd up the ECML.
Modern trains such as 185 180 170 172 electrostar and desiro are far more complicated than previous generations so I wonder if it will be actually possible to preserve working examples on heritage lines in the future, I predict that there will be interest when time is up for those trains among...
If the return portion of a ticket is valid for a month after the outward journey would it be acceptable to use it more than once, for example, one had a lift in a car to the destination and used the return ticket to come back.
I have noticed that at some stations there is a white sliding switch under the opposite facing platform, just out of curiosity could someone please tell me what it's for.

I went through Sevenoaks Tunnel earlier and the lady across from me was talking on her phone all the way through it, I checked both of my phones and neither had any service, is there something I don't know or is she one of life's eccentricities?
The tunnel is quite deep and very long and we were...

I would like to know if any Class 305 vehicles exist in preservation, I have fond memories of these going from Hackney Downs to Chingford as a child in the 70s.
With a substantial quantity of Mk 3 EMU coaches being withdrawn in the next few years I have been thinking about what else to do with them rather than scraping, maybe converting some into cheap temporary housing for homeless people for instance, what do others think?
Good evening all, this is my first time o on here and I hope that I have posted in the correct location.
Having gone to Chelmsford on Monday on a Class 321 Renatus I was very impressed with its quality of refurbishment, I was thinking that the Renatus treatment would be a good thing for the...
