Could we see a Maglev Transrapid system in the UK?

Hello everyone I'd like to start a sensible discussion about Maglev, in particular the Transrapid system and its benefits, or otherwise, especially in regard to the UK. I'm happy that it has been moved into "Speculative Ideas" and am able to supply quite a lot of information.
