Did not see this posted. Interesting Alstom is essentially using the same power cars around the world. Amtrak's next gen Acela has the same power cars. Alstom stated acquisition costs had to be lowered so sharing the same basic train chassis or platform for International sales may be Alstom's...

I think 250 mph is probably the highest speed one would want to go using rail. Any higher, and I would think Hyper Loop or "Maglev" (yeah I know.....) would be the preferred mode.

Amtrak is looking at DMUs in the United States, how many of the cars actually carry fuel? What's there fuel capacity? Have there been any "grade crossing" incidents?
