Is this true? Is it only valid on certain ticket types? Or if ferry/bus times allowed could I just buy an Edinburgh–Mallaig return and travel Edinburgh–Glasgow–Mallaig–Armadale–Kyle–Inverness–Edinburgh (obviously paying separately for Mallaig–Armadale and Armadale–Kyle)?
