I wanted somewhere to rant about this Delay Repay portal, because it's bloody awful and public shaming can occasionally be effective in persuading suppliers to get their act together. I have had no luck complaining to train operators about how bad the portal is.
Broken email links

...when the origin station has no Ticket on Departure collection facilities, to allow collection at the first realistic possibility for customers who have chosen to pre-purchase tickets but - perhaps through no fault of their own - were not permitted to purchase E-Tickets?

Do retail managers from train operating companies actually try and use the TVMs the company makes before they decide on the supplier?
I was using a Chiltern TVM yesterday and even just finding the 26-30 Railcard option is a real challenge amongst all the crap in the list.
I thought it was...
I've just spent the last ten minutes wasting my time on this before being given a simple email address which could've saved me all the bother initially.
CrossCountry has a form that customers can fill in, but clearly whoever is responsible for the form didn't know how to mitigate SQL injection...
Leamington ticket office, this morning. They've been pretty poor in the past, but I thought I'd give them a go on this occasion again.
My SO held a Super Off-Peak Return. I asked for a (one-way, return portion) excess for this already-held ticket to an Off-Peak Return which allows a slightly...
The ORR have today published a review into how online retailers present fees (such as booking fees, share of saving/finder fees and fulfilment fees) to consumers.

Wouldn't most customers use the Central or Elizabeth Lines for this journey? Or hell, not rely on a fixed link at all and take a timetabled train?
Anyone know the reasoning it's not a TUBE fixed link?
What were TfL thinking?
Are tourists just meant to know that this is Bond Street?
There's nothing on the station webpage to explain what's going on either.
I'm looking at this service (VT362000 VT7175) which ran on Wednesday: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:L33700/2023-08-30#allox_id=0 - RTT shows it had 11 coaches.
Can someone please confirm I'm understanding this correctly:
390129 is a refurbished pendolino
I believe coaches C...
Mod Note: Posts #1 - #20 originally in this thread.
As someone who sadly has to travel with Chiltern, often quite late at night, in my experience it's very common that the train sits at the platform unadvertised for no legitimate reason, long after it has been serviced by cleaning staff (who -...
At present, there is a right to travel and pay-on-board/at the first opportunity where ticket issuing facilities are not functioning and the customer does not hold a ticket.
To my knowledge, there is no such right in the Conditions of Travel for the customer who purchases from a Train Operating...
S&B => Scheidt & Bachmann, a TVM (ticket vending machine) manufacturer
I found some videos on YouTube from S&B showing a new TVM user interface currently in use in a prototype being built:
Not completely sure quite what to make of this, it does look a little bit like someone discovered the...

Awarded straight back to the incumbent supplier.
Yesterday (20/04/2023) I purchased a 16-25 Railcard from LNER. It was advertised as valid for "1 year" on LNER's website. When I added it to my device, it had an expiry of 19th April 2024.
Presumably the (undocumented!) logic here is 365 day validity, 2024 being a leap year. I believe the spec...
I'm reading the Ts and Cs here: https://www.trenitalia.com/content/dam/tcom/allegati/trenitalia/condizioni-generali-di-trasporto/parte-iii---trasporto-regionale/4-Tipologia_dei_titoli_di_viaggio-Utilizzo_convalida_e_validita.pdf

This one is a hypothetical.
NRCoT condition 3.3 states:
Does a counted place reservation suffice for this condition? If so, am I entitled to a seat with my counted place reservation? If I am, and I try to board a service for which my counted place reservation is valid - but I am unable to...

Scenario:
Original ticket purchased as E-Ticket, and used to enter compulsory ticket area (scanned at gateline) to gain access to platform

I have a Bahncard expiring in late Nov but no desire for the auto renew.
Has anyone successfully used the online form to request a cancellation on one of these? The site seems broken to me.
