South Yorkshire PTE Concessionary Fare Restrictions

According to Travel South Yorkshire, a 16-18 Student Pass will allow the holder to travel for "half fare on Northern Rail train services in South Yorkshire". However, this restriction is not mentioned in the (poorly written, IMO) terms of use for the pass. Does anyone know for certain whether...
