LU Stock on Leicester to Burton Freight line

Yesterday I had the wonderful sight of 4 class 20s shepherding a very few LU coaches northwards from Leicester. I had heard this was happening with new stock going southwards but I didn't know about stock going north 3 questions Why is stock going north? Where is it going? Is it Old...
