I think I've committed Fraud... Advice please

Hi, I travel to and from work with a weekly bus and train pass. Without giving any excuses, I tampered with my latest weekly ticket by changing the expiry date on it. I was caught out, questioned and read my rights. No doubt I will be prosecuted for this silly action but could anyone...
