Season Ticket Benefit Query

I am considering buying a South West Trains Annual Season Ticket. However I am possibly going to move house after 6 months and may have to get a refund for part of the ticket. I understand that it is not pro-rata etc. I know that I will lose the benefit of Gold Card status. I am wondering...
