Gatwick Airport: long queues

So once again last night I returned to UK through Gatwick. At 8.30pm the queue for tickets snaked back round the corner and out into the terminal building. Needless to say at least two of the ticket office windows were closed and the information desk on the rhs had a sign on it saying "this...
