Easing of Coronavirus restrictions in Scotland

Scotrail said the other day that face coverings won’t be enforced and that they are “personal responsibility.”

Clapham Junction departure board doesn't show all train

Correct me if I'm wrong. But don't the auto announcements at Clapham Junction miss out the time on London-bound trains? So for example: "Platform 14 for the, Southern, service to London Victoria"

    Glasgow Airport

Virgin Atlantic have today announced they are pulling out of Glasgow Airport in favour of Edinburgh Airport. (That's typical) https://twitter.com/VirginAtlantic/status/1425374005381541888 https://twitter.com/VirginAtlantic/status/1425383309446631428 Imo, this is quite a big blow for Glasgow...

    Standardised Announcements

A bit bizarre, but it does make sense considering all the other stations are fitted with the Anne system. I'd much rather they retrofitted with Emma Hignett as it would make it much less bland.

    Standardised Announcements

I'd put my money on Emma Hignett. TfL seem to be particularly fond of her voice given they are on Crossrail trains and will no doubt be the voice of the new stations.

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Had that a few times on Virgin. Though I think it might’ve been down to the train being very busy due to it being a Sunday. Birmingham to Preston was free

    Scottish Citylink

I wonder if there has been any cases of Edinburgh passengers accidentally ending up on the 909 from Glasgow, which takes a LONG detour via Stirling and Bo'Ness. The destination says Edinburgh via Stirling on it, so confusion would be easy. Why isn't the 909 just run as a split service instead?

    Busiest Services.

The Larkhall trains always seem to be generally busy, even off peak.

    Stagecoach West Scotland

Turns out, 29303 has gone into the depot. Would honestly put my money on both of them going back in. Only 29301 is out

    Stagecoach West Scotland

The new 7900E's are out in service today, albeit only two of them. 29302 was out this morning, but 303 is only out now. They are on the 1 service. EDIT: 29301 and 303 are both out.

    X bus route numbers

Stagecoach West Scotland's X36 service is limited stop from Ardrossan to Kilwinning, picks up all stops in the Garnock Valley until Beith before running non stop down the M8 to Glasgow City Centre. The X77 is the same in which it's limited stop from Ayr to Prestwick Airport, before going non...

Easing of Coronavirus restrictions in Scotland

I believe it was a legal requirement to enforce masks when not seated.

Easing of Coronavirus restrictions in Scotland

Might I ask what makes you think this? It's not them who invented the mask thing... Hospitality businesses have been struggling for the last year and a half through no fault of their own, it's a bit selfish to say that it's their fault. If they get caught disobeying guidelines, they are...

    Stagecoach West Scotland

708 looks to have came out to replace 15996 on the 1520 from Ayr to Ardrossan, with 996 going off to Ayr depot. Both were allocated to the 15:20 so perhaps 996 broke down in Ayr. I think it's probably inaccurate, but it's still a mystery as to where 15817 is gone.

    Stagecoach West Scotland

Does anyone know if 28708 (YN64 AJX) has moved to Ardrossan? Bustimes has it registered as being moved there from Ayr. Also, does anyone know the whereabouts of 15817 (SF12 HWP)? Hasn't been out since July 23rd.

Avanti - no WiFi = no food or drink. Why such basic customer service failure?

That's a fair point. On said Voyager journey, the staff turned at seat order off approaching Wolverhampton and Preston to allow for a crew change. Perhaps the catering staff weren't aware of Wi-Fi issues as only the train manager would be able to do something about it.

Avanti - no WiFi = no food or drink. Why such basic customer service failure?

The Voyagers have still been running with onboard catering staff. The shop staff also do the at-seat order. However, since the start of the pandemic the Voyagers have had their shops closed entirely. I believe the Voyagers only got their catering staff back when at-seat order launched. I did a...

Avanti - no WiFi = no food or drink. Why such basic customer service failure?

The OP did say that the WiFi wasn't working, meaning they were unable to use at-seat order. I doubt it's to do with staffing.

Tomorrow is the big day! Masks remaining, but I'm still very excited for it. Just my luck to get Costochondritis though.
