Drugs & Alcohol Testing during training.

It has happened during IST. Any work related event could lead to a potential for D&A testing to occur, it would come under the random testing regime. Years ago I was attending a Network Rail seminar at Westwood, when it was still open. Having an on-site bar and leisure facilities was an...

Ah, the old Lincoln Street LC. https://picturenottingham.co.uk/image-library/image-details/poster/ntgm010213/posterid/ntgm010213.html The image is of the Midland Railway signal box and level crossing. The box is long closed and removed. The current Nottingham Tram line operates to the left of...

    Examples of unique level crossings?

Don't forget Stonea (between March and Ely). Low bridge for road traffic that wishes to avoid the manual gated crossing. Some of the Cornish branch lines have open crossings (no lights or barriers) with Give Way signs for road traffic. Trains speeds are restricted over these types of crossing.

I've attached the current payscale sheet. For a Grade 6 the Sunday pay would be: 12hr Sunday day £458.59 12hr Sunday night £440.76 + Night allowance £20.38 Remember, Sundays are outside of the working week, but do attract that slightly enhanced pay rate. Image shows current Network Rail pay...

Huddersfield was a centre of civil unrest during the Industrial Revolution. Luddites objected primarily to the rising popularity of automated textile equipment, threatening the jobs and livelihoods of skilled workers. The Luddite movement began in Arnold, Nottinghamshire.

Can't answer about the exact location, but it won't be at Westwood, Coventry. Network Rail sold the facility off a couple of years ago.

Salisbury also has a copy of the Magna Carta. An ancient cathedral was north of the present city at Old Sarum. A new cathedral was built near the meeting of the rivers and a settlement grew up around it, which received a city charter in 1227 as New Sarum. Preferring settlements in bottomland...

The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

People keep going on about immigration and Brexit. This is one of the main points that Reform seem to push. It was people like Farage that encouraged Britain to leave the EU, on the basis it would be better. Yet, it hasn't lived up to the expectations he, and his business colleagues (I won't...

Goring-by-Sea is in the Rape of Arundel (also known as Arundel Rape). It is one of the rapes, the traditional sub-divisions unique to the historic county of Sussex in England. In the adjacent Rape of Bramber is the town of Steyning.

During the 12th and 13th centuries, religious activities were carried out at the free chapel of Saint Blaise, constructed within the Sutton manor grounds. There is a church dedicated to Saint Blaise in the Devon hamlet of Haccombe, near Newton Abbot.
