Quick update to let you know how he got on with the Court case. The case was settled out of court, with the help of an advocate contacting Northern Rail on his behalf. He settled and paid costs of £200.

I also (usually) pay cash for my daily rail tickets, and don't buy a weekly pass as I don't always work 5 days each week which would merit a saving on a weekly pass. Would your local station staff vouch for her buying daily tickets perhaps?
