I've recently sat and passed the assessments for ATW and I'm still waiting for a SI/medical date. They said just before assessments commenced that a course would be starting in May. When they phoned 2 weeks after assessments had been completed, they said they were waiting for course...

The first week of April I was invited to assessments with ATW. The assessor stated before our tests started that there were 35 going for assessments and 8 jobs available..... 3 failed on my day, and there were others to take the tests the next day, and some sat tests the day before me...

I'm wondering why so many TOC's perform their shortlisting, interviewing processes so differently, is there any set way, better way to do it First off for myself and other candidates for ATW was shorlisting for the job. Then it was interview with HR and a Driver Manager..... then...

I've still got a way to go, but I've just come back from assesments for ATW and passed. I'd just like to say thankyou to everyone who has give an input on how to deal and prepare for this stage..... there's no way I could have done it without the people on this forum, thankyou very much...

how do you dress ? I intend to give a good impression by going suit, shirt, tie, etc... as per first stage interview is any attention paid to to this or doesn't it matter ? cheers Carlejo

.... they want me to attend next week for assesments..... any pointers guys/gals, I've been working on the GB test, anything else I need to concentrate on. ps..... I was shaking like a leaf when I was listening to my answerphone message. cheers Carlejo

.... if I get through to assesment stage I've gone really slow on the GB test to try and cut down on omissions and I'm getting 142. I've tried this test 7 times on the trot, getting better, but that can't be good, surely. Cheers Carlejo

I just wondered that when training(if I'm lucky enough to get that far) do trainees constantly work on the same line, to learn the signal point areas, braking points,(even when qualified) etc or is it case where you learn a few routes in case you could be needed on more than one. thanks Carlejo

I wondered if anyone can help on this matter ? The salary for train driver with ATW is £41k...... is there shift allowance built into the salary or is it separate, if so what is the rate ? If you work o/t, what is the rate of pay for o/t working ? thanks in advance
