Hi,
I'm looking to travel from Glasgow to London on Sunday 14th June. However, having not used the route in a while I've found something a bit odd...
I can't purchase a first class ticket. I don't mean "I can't purchase an Advance first class ticket"... I can't actually purchase any first...
My train this evening is cancelled due to crew shortage.
I am boarding at an unstaffed station, and have no other public transport means of leaving, meaning I will have to take the later train.
Normally, with delay repay I would submit a claim - but in this case I'd have to buy the ticket...
Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk High has engineering works on Thursday, but I'm planning a trip across.
National Rail (and ScotRail's advice) state that services are calling at Croy, Falkirk, Polmont, Linlithgow, Edinburgh Park (additionally) but not Haymarket.
I notice it takes 31 (!)...

Looks interesting. I've always wondered why there's no station at Braehead seeing as the railway already stretches all the way down there from the Glasgow > Paisley Gilmour St line. Also, dare I suggest, if it...
Just in case anyone hasn't seen this... it crept up on us and kept away from 'national 'media:

Interesting how ScotRail are giving up their right to compensation payments for service disruption. Also...
I didn't know these existed. Nor that they needed calibrated... however this story from STV has enlightened me:

Are there lots of 'speed cameras' for train drivers about? And are...
Ok, so on the Helensburgh-Edinburgh (via Airdrie/Bathgate) line services are booked to run Helensburgh to Dalmuir, then non-stop from Dalmuir to Hyndland via Yoker.
However, a few weeks ago I overheard a conversation by TE's on my train that one (yes, just one) during the day goes via Singer...
As I recall there were major problems due to overhead wire issues just before Christmas which caused widespread disruption across the North Clyde/Argyle/A-B lines.
This evening there seems to be another fairly big problem with Balloch - Springburn suspended altogether leaving 8 stations...
Seems like there's quite a large shortage of drivers? A quick look at Journeycheck at the moment shows:
Neilston > Glasgow Cent.
Gourock/Wemyss Bay > Glasgow Cent.
Largs > Glasgow Cent.
with pretty much all services on these routes being replaced by buses due to 'a member of the train...
Here's an interesting one... does anyone think a TOC would lie/twist the truth about a train delay to avoid fines (or other reasons)?
There's a story attached to this:
I was standing waiting for my platform to come up today and noticed on the departures board that a train at another...
I've signed up to Scotrail's Advance loyalty scheme, and after 4 weeks my membership card hasn't arrived...
Scotrail CR looked into it for me last week and assured me they had sent off the details again to the department (which, I believe is far away) which deals with Advance.
However...
