When most railfans think of Shildon, they automatically think of the Locomotion Museum and the heritage side of it.
But my YouTube channel ShildonTrainspotter, is all about showing the side of Shildon that many people miss the day-to-day, overlooked modern railway.
People normally film a few videos at Shildon Railway Station when visiting briefly,
But I film from a variety of local spots, including some locations that some spotters don’t even know exist! Because I'm out at these spots regularly, I’ve built a fantastic rapport with some of the drivers on the line. When they rotate onto the route, they instantly recognise me from the cab window and sometimes deliver mega horn blasts.
Of course, I still deeply appreciate the heritage side of Shildon, and my goal is to balance the modern and heritage aspects of Shildon Rail
You can check out the channel and have a look here: youtube.com
I'll keep this thread updated with my latest clips of Bishop Line action.
Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
The images attached below are some images of my best shots at Shildon last
week, including Class 156s and 158s at Shildon stations, thickley wood bridge, middridge level crossing and spout lane bridge!
