Hello quick question

I thought ScotRail 156s all went from Green/Barbie Ashbourne seating to Fainsa Satire moquette seating.

I have however seen a fairly old video with Ashbourne seating yet Satire moquette.

Do any still have Ashbournes then?

Cheers

When 478 arrived at Northern it had Northern moquette. Being refurbished at Brodies. However it had the Ironing board seats. They must've had them fitted when in service with Scotrail. As the Yellow seat grab handles were the darker shade like the other ScotRail 156s. The Northern ones are a lighter Yellow.

Not to revive a month old thread, but it definitely sounds like it; was done as part of it's rebuild/refurb at Brodies after it ran into floodwater on the Glasgow South Western in late 2014 (478 was previously a First Barbie unit inside and out).

No other ScR 156 had the Saltire/Ashbourne combo as far as I can remember, it was either Barbie or ex-SPT (the Green moquette mentioned above) in the rest of the ScR 156 fleet prior to them being iron-boarded. Not sure exactly when 478 was iron-boarded, but it was done before it went off-lease and later departed for Northern.

Shame no Ashbourne fitted sets remain, as they'd be more suitable for preservation. No self respecting heritage railway would run with Ironing Boards.

I was wondering what happened to the Ashbourne seats/suppliers, there must have been someone producing them/spare parts until fairly recently? Are they (other than arm rests and tables) identical to the version in select (hideously uncomfortable) 150s?
