I work for Avanti West Coast and obviously we’re being nationalised in March ‘27.
We currently get £6 day tickets for friends travelling with a staff member but I’m assuming that will come to an end.
Just wondering if employees of other nationalised TOCs could let me know if they get similar benefits so I can maybe know what to expect going forwards.
Thanks.

No it won't come to an end, nothing will change other than the parent company.

When TPE were nationalised, we lost our First Group boxes and F&F tickets, but TPE now do £10 day rovers with no restrictions on travel, the staff member also does not have to travel, we lost the First Group TOCs though

That will almost certainly be incorrect.

It will depend on what the current Friends and Family offer is.

IF they are "parent company" offers, i.e. First Group Friends and Family tickets, then yes, you will loose them. It is likely that they will be replaced with an alternative for your TOC only in due course. As above, TPE has £10 Friends and Family Rover Tickets which no longer need the staff member to travel with the person using them, while I understand SWR have introduced a similar offer (i.e. SWR only, not First group) but they still do require the staff member to travel with the person using them. I understand neither came along straight away though and there was a period where there was nothing at all.

If they are currently "TOC only" offers, then you should retain them.

Any existing Reciprocal Travel / Residential Travel (the sort of thing where your existing staff travel pass acts as your ticket) arrangements should also carry forward, but there probably won't be any new ones introduced. You will loose the First Group Boxes however.

SWR have £6 day tickets for travel on SWR services for friends & family and the
staff pass holder needs to travel with them.

Not the easiest to buy mind.

Northern have £8 friends and family tickets, no need for the staff member to travel. It's likely some kind of scheme will continue.

Chiltern have £10, 1 day rovers for Friends and Family.

Just retained XC reciprocal travel agreement and local WMT agreement are now formally in place.

It felt like a struggle, however, to have the DfTO agree this in what seemed like negotiations during pre-transfer exchanges.
It certainly want clear till the remaining days of the transfer process.
