Well today is my first day out of 4 to try get my last 3 remaining HST power cars for haulage should get 2 of them today

I’m really impressed with the guards every single Scotrail train I have been on today tickets have been checked as I live in Lancashire ticket checks back home are like a lottery you never know .

Trains in Scotland are clean staff are friendly and approachable , Saturday and Sunday I will be visiting a few pubs north and south of Aberdeen

The ticket is excellent value when you look the price of a return ticket

The £15 first class upgrade is worth while for the superb interior ambiance on the HST if doing a decent length run.
The upgrade can be booked to final destination so allows break of journey.

guard sold me one through to Glasgow after I boarded an Inverness bound HST at Aberdeen as I was going Aberdeen to Glasgow via Inverness

Hope you get some great runs and visit some excellent pubs.

If you have enough time between trains in Aberdeen, Aitchie's Bar diagonally across the road from the station shopping centre do an excellent pint of Orkney Dark Island.

Yea I’m going to do that when heading home going to upgrade to first class Aberdeen - Glasgow

Been on day of arrival and each night on arrival back at Aberdeen , station bar and west port pub both just outside Arbroath station are good the former very old fashioned kind of place

Only downside is I bought the travel pass from booking office at Aberdeen it’s the airline ticket stock and not credit card style !! Not once has it opened any barriers which I’ve found annoying

The on board trolly is cheap enough in my opinion . A hot chocolate and a lazy day fruit cake £4 total , I prefer coffee but the coffee from the trolley leaves a lot to be desired . But the hot choc is nice and the fruit cake is scrumptious even if it is on the small side compared to the previous ones they used to sell but given it’s not made with any flour or eggs it’s lovely
