Great! Was I close with the year too? Mid-2000s?

I travelled west-bound on the Trans-Mongolian train #3 in 2008. By the time I reached European Russia I'd lost track of where I was, so I don't know if I stopped in Yaroslavl or not! My last trip through Russia (before the pandemic & war) was in 2019 on train #4 from Moscow Kazansky to Petropavl in Kazakhstan. I had a beer in half-carriage bistro/bar with a man heading home to Murom in the outer suburbs from Moscow - he was very complimentary of Britain's help to Russia with aid via Murmansk in WW2.

I'll aim to post a new photo later this evening...

Yes I think that Photo was from around 2006. We travelled Budapest - Moscow - Beijing in 1989 on the Trans Manchurian Train for the princely sum of £150 per person. 8 Days (2 days 1 night Budapest - Moscow, 6 days, 5 nights to Beijing). in 4 Berth Compartments with a variety of colourful characters for company. We left in October so everything was covered in Snow for days - we missed Yaroslavl as the train didn't depart from Moscow until around Midnight. Our eventual destination was Australia as we had working Visas for 1 year. Eventually returned home 18 Months later but via New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii and USA. We got a 6 Week Amtrak Unlimited Pass each for $250 and criss crossed the country on the Superliners!
