anyone else think that the new "improved" Nationwide website is as big a step backwards as I do?
Me. It used the be the best website of all the bank or building societies I use (I use about eight) but it has gone to one of the worst. I have always used them as my main bank for day-to-day working but I am seriously thinking of moving to one of the others now. However you can still switch to old style, for now.
It is dumbed down and seems to be optimised for smartphones (guessing, I don't use it that way), not a PC screen. I don't know why they can't have both optimisations and I suspect it is because banks will eventually force all non-business users to access only via a phone app - it gives them more control.
Just one example, Nationwide now shown transactions ordered with latest at the top, with no option (like HSBC do have) to reverse the list as in a conventional bank statement. This seems to be because millennials and later generations only want to see what money they have right now, so they want that at the top. My daughter is an example of that - looking lower down the list seeing where the money has gone just frightens her.
