XC Voyager - some seats showing reservations for a different route

It's possible I'm going mad, but if not, I'm wondering how this is possible.

I was on a Manchester-Bournemouth train today (1O24 worked by 220026) and, seeing that it was only 4 cars, had reserved myself a seat from Coventry-Banbury (via the GWR website).

However, when the (inevitably packed) train arrived, I fought my way down to my seat only to find it, and the adjacent seat, displaying reservations for a completely different route (I think it was Exeter-Bristol, but can't remember exactly, and it was too busy to take a photo).

Under normal circumstances, I'd have assumed that the reservations for another service had been downloaded for some reason (incorrect headcode entered or computer glitch). However, the rest of the reservations in the coach seemed to be correct for Manchester-Bournemouth..

Given I couldn't point to the reservation display, and I wasn't going very far, I decided not to challenge the person already in the seat, and got one at the next stop anyway, but I'm curious as to how this was possible.

As an aside, it was disturbing how dim the LED reservation displays have become on these trains, I'm sure they were much brighter when new.
Given all the focus around contrast and other visual accessibility requirements elsewhere on the railway, I'm surprised they're still considered acceptable. Have they been sorted out on the refurbs?
