The source came from Facebook, however Dave has mentioned it beforeIt was DiligentDave that posted that the missing transformers are coming from their doomed counterparts stored in sunny Warwickshire at the moment.
You would have to assume that Porterbrook have now officially ever given up getting the remaining ones back in service now they have the 350 deal on the cards, the value of the 323s is now weight in metal!
That’s great newsApparently a source at allerton who remained anonymous saying there some bits coming from them?
I wish they would get 229/242 out323217 has returned to service today having been out of use since May.
All in good time!Wish they get 229/242 out lol
I'm guessing they're being sent to Northampton to get work done before transferring to Northern? All in good time!

My understanding is that they’ll all be fitted with ASDO to allow for operation on Airport - Blackpool North services.I asked the question on the internal Northern message system. 8 car trains on the cards with mods to the door operating system. No reductions of any units to 3 cars. Good to cross that one off. No answers on internal seating adjustments.
And has just failed at Stoke, in the bay platform!323217 has returned to service today having been out of use since May.
Any more notes on the 'mods to the door operating system'? ASDO is a possible but I've been hearing other ideas kicking around as well.I asked the question on the internal Northern message system. 8 car trains on the cards with mods to the door operating system. It’s definitely not back on form. Out for one day, away for nearly another week, out again and failed. And has just failed at Stoke, in the bay platform!
ASDO will be utilised to enable them to run in 8 car formations - believe Blackpools aren’t the first to swap over anyway.Any more notes on the 'mods to the door operating system'? ASDO is a possible but I've been hearing other ideas kicking around as well.
Hopefully they just install the Sella Controls ASDO equipment and don't try any of the false economies that other companies have tried to cheap out with over the years. It’s definitely not back on form. Out for one day, away for nearly another week, out again and failed.

We've been told it's the same system as used on the CAF units.Any more notes on the 'mods to the door operating system'? ASDO is a possible but I've been hearing other ideas kicking around as well.
Seems to be Sella Controlls using Geofencing with TrackLink III beacon fallback. So shouldn't be too bad and there is already a design for TrackLink III to be installed on Class 350 units. We've been told it's the same system as used on the CAF units.

Reference here: https://sellacontrols.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/ASDO_CSDE_0318.pdfTrain Based ASDO and CSDE solutions using GNSS and Tracklink III® (or GNSS only if no problem stations) The system has a EKE Trainnet® ASDO controller with GNSS and a Tracklink III® Reader mounted in each unit. The ASDO controller contains a database of the stations on the route. A geofence for each station and a network route is used so that the train identifies when it is at a particular station. This information is used to provide the SDO functionality for most of the route. Where there are stations with different platform lengths or where there is unreliable GNSS coverage then Tracklink III® Beacons are mounted at each platform of the affected station. At these stations the ASDO system will default to the shortest platform length unless it detects the Tracklink III® beacon, with the information from the beacon the ASDO controller can then release the full amount of doors for that platform. The ASDO controller communicates with remote Input/Output modules on each individual vehicle to release the correct doors on each vehicle. References: Class 195, Class 331 and Class 397
It's already back out today, will be forming the 19:46 off Manchester for Stoke, let's see how it gets on!And has just failed at Stoke, in the bay platform!
Northampton is maintaining the 360s though.Has it actually been announced where the Northern 350s will be maintained ?
I think further up this thread, when the lease to Northern was first announced it was assumed that they would be maintained in Manchester, but will they ?
The Siemens depot in Manchester is probably alread fully committed in maintaining the Class 185s, whereas the Siemens depot at Northampton must now surely have lots of spare capacity as they are not currently maintaining the 350/2s. I may well be wrong, but I suspect that they might be maintained there, as previously when leased to London Midland, thereby restoring the depots full work load.
It is not unknown for units (and locos) to be maintained at a remote or "off patch" location - just look at Chiltern Class 68s+Mark 5s which are maintained well "off patch" at Eastleigh.
