Tell that to the locals. There's an unofficial footpath across the fields that leads down to the western end of the platform that the locals use to access the platform.Manulla Junction in Ireland has no public access. Only used for changing between the main line and the branch to Balina.
I wonder what the origin/destination is on their tickets? Probably the nearest station down the line.Tell that to the locals. There's an unofficial footpath across the fields that leads down to the western end of the platform that the locals use to access the platform.
You used to be able to walk through the tunnel. I did it once but it wasn't greatHeathrow Central is strange is that there's no exit on foot or bike - you need to leave by plane / tube / bus / car / taxi.
It had a public access underneath the High Level Lines, which I believe is still there.Trent? It only served as an interchange.
Ugh tell me about it. I tried to cycle to the airport once and realised it wasn't doable. I managed to book my bike in to the staff cycle hub thing though which I thought was interesting given they didn't check me for any ID! They even pumped up my tyres before returning my bikeHeathrow Central is strange is that there's no exit on foot or bike - you need to leave by plane / tube / bus / car / taxi.
CJ has far from "some limited use" as an entry/exit!Every now and again I think about this and thought I'd post it here.
I can think of lots of stations where the use is overwhelmingly interchange (Clapham Junction etc), but these do have public exits with some limited use.
I'm wondering if there are any with no public pedestrian or cycle exits at all. Redcar British Steel is the famous one, but is no longer served - and in any case, it would be nice to find examples that do receive use as interchange!
The best (in fact only real) example I can think of is Heathrow T2/3 since the only exit is via another mode of transport (cycling is not allowed through the tunnel).
I can think of some examples internationally like Sunny Bay Interchange Station in Hong Kong. This meets the criteria most purely as it does have an exit but only to bus interchange, and the walking routes reach dead ends, strand you on the wrong side of tracks, or lead to motorways where pedestrians are not allowed.
