The only way the Council would get much for them is to sell them back to Wrightbus for refurbishment and further use as hydrogen buses.

Surely they'll get something for them, they're in good condition, take the Hydrogen tanks out them and get them to Newpower and they'll be fit for the road again with any luck
If it costs £200K for a Newpower diesel conversion, it could cost more for a hydrogen conversion. How much more would anyone want to pay for the bus?

I wonder if it would cost less, as they might be able to use the existing electric motors in the Hydroliners.
They were non standard so I would have thought these need to be the current ones used.
It would maybe cost the same as the Diesel to Electric conversions they’ve been doing to older Streetdecks.
There is a white articulated left hand drive bus inside the depot. I could not see clearly if it was an Irizar ie tram but probably is. Presumably being looked at by the Council/Authority for the proposed Aberdeen Rapid Transit Service .

There was a photo of it online yesterday being transported north - confirmed as an Irizar ie Tram.

Seen rumours online that the Hydroliners have been bought by First and are to be repowered to electric. Anyone heard anything regarding this?
It was not definitely confirmed that it is First doing it. At least one other entity was interested in them.

The rumour I heard was that one of the Hydroliners was going to China for conversion to electric power as that was a cheaper and quicker option than being converted in the UK.

Buses break down all the time
With the 727 now operating at that time, parts of the night bus network are changing from 11 September 2026. The N17 is now going via the 3 route, then 23 route then Anderson Drive to Haudagin roundabout. The N18 has a route change in Cove.
The 20/20A is also changing with the daytime 20A not reappearing this year, the 20 starting 30 minutes earlier Monday to Friday and the night time 20A now operating every day according to the timetable. The 1B starts 30 minutes earlier from Dubford Monday to Friday.

These could help start wiping out some the E300s eventually. That is if they’re to stay with Aberdeen.

My money's on them getting repowered and moving to York to replace the Metrodeckers that have been parked up for 2 months now
They are only buying 7 before the end of March 2027 with the remaining 16 the next year, so that is quite far off.

Knowing First these days, they’ll be looking to keep costs down so I’d say it’s unlikely they’ll replace singles with doubles.
You would not have thought they would be replacing double deckers for singles with the fare cap coming.
