The emphasis is very much on the "slightly", compared to Thameslink services to Corby.Didcot is quite far out though, it’s in Oxfordshire, I doubt TfL would run services out that far.
However if the EL weren’t a TfL service and was part of a wider CrossRail network of rail services (RER style) it would be a different story.
