Time restrictions on rover tickets

I use rover tickets a lot. They are very flexible and great value for money.
No time restrictions of a weekend but there are during the week. So this morning I boarded the 0852 TP train from Leeds to Newcastle like I have on many an occasion. My ticket has a 9am start but as per usual this train runs late and this morning was no exception. It departed at 0902.
So am I ok boarding this train which I did? I’ve never had a problem in the past but just thought I would ask the question.
I would appreciate clarification.

It depends on the precise terms of the time restrictions.

If they say “not valid on trains scheduled to depart before 09:00”, for example, you can not board a late running train.

For example,

Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 08:45.

would not allow you to take a late running train at 08:45.

If you tell us which rover ticket you’re talking about we may be able to advise further.

Tickets are available for travel on trains timed to depart from 09:00 Mondays to Fridays and any time weekends and Bank Holidays

Does that still hold if the first train scheduled to depart after the time restriction ends is cancelled, or would that just be a case of waiting for the second scheduled valid service and claiming delay repay?

Cancellations generally mean you can take the train before, just as you would if you had an advance

Could someone claim they relied on https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ticket-types/tickets/sr3/ which states "Valid after 08:45 weekdays"

Or https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/tickets/rangers-tickets-and-rovers-tickets (which has terrible information design) which states "You can use your tickets on trains departing after 0900" ?

(Neither of which specify "Timed to depart" etc)

Or are the restrictions printed on the ticket?

The ticket will have restriction code B3 printed on it, for which the details are published and consistent, as in the link I gave previously.

What appears to happen is that the people responsible for pricing these tickets also tinker with their restrictions, but the different people who put up information on other Web sites don’t bother to check for changes, not least because there seems to be no simple process to tell them of changes.
