I suspect Trainline make a fair amount of money from their booking.com/Genius partnership as well these days.

I've not used Trainline for a while, but there have been a couple of websites I recently used where Booking.com was automatically launched with the destination quoted. Is Trainline one of these ?

Trainline is indeed one of these.

Also is the National Rail website which I think is disgraceful.

Hate this, and auto opt-in. Just more app noise, less actual train info, and no doubt personal data sharing.
