The 82/83/84 will only require 3 buses instead of the 4 currently as the extension to Fountains Abbey will end with schools returning. It looks like 2 of the 3 duties will be ran out of Procters Leeming Bar and the third from Pocklington - a similar set up to the present.

So the Beverley Road route numbering in the 40-series has gone out of the window then.

Some interesting changes - the Hedon to HRI link could be useful. My concern about combining the 58/45 into one long route is reliability. Stagecoach scrapped their cross-city routes for that reason, and the risk here is that an issue near the University (for example) affects services to Hessle. Is there really the demand there for through journeys on this route?

Indeed, if you're doing a cross city style service you're probably best off doing what Stagecoach now do in that you do it via running boards like the 1 and 2 of Stagecoach Hull have, 4 and 6, 7 and 8 etc.

As you pointed out, the second something happens it creates a knock on, so you're better linking via boards instead of that but lets see how well the new 58 will do before we start calling it a disaster, as lets face it, accidents are rare and in that, most days will go without a hitch

Of course, things do happen but will be interesting to see how the timings work once the kids are back at school and the 58 has to negotiate two main roads with bus lanes. Looking again at the timetable, one plus point is that it will mean you can board a Beverley Road bus in the city centre without having to trek all the way to the station.

Nothing to suggest it isn't. There was concern at the time that it might not be "temporary".

I was in Hornsea over the weekend and it just struck me as odd that it was still stood empty after 8 years and not sold for housing development or the like.

I had a ride from Bridlington to hornsea on the bus a couple of months back,on arriving outside the garage the door was open so I attempted to look inside but two men came out and shut it before I got there.

Was that a localised issue? Leeds, Bradford and York seem to do it quite well but my experience outside these areas (besides London!) is limited.

Currently in the process of applying for a job as driver at both EY and Stagecoach just wondering if anyone who drives for either company can comment as to whether either are good companies to work for and if so which one would anyone recommend. I would guess that someone has bought it speculatively (perhaps with a long term view to redeveloping the site) and is leasing it to the car wash people to a) bring in a modest income and b) ensure the security of the site

Was sold about 3 years ago and is now used by a business for storage. If it has not been scrubbed of yet by tyres a red line was painted on the forecourt as a do not cross marker for buses terminating there.

Not going to post location or photos for security reasons (even though they're behind one decent layer of security already), but managed to find where the delicensed Hull vehicles are parked up while out on a walk... probably no room at Anlaby Road to store them since the electric chargers came in. Could the fact that they're still in full logos and advertisements with windows and doors wide open (risky!) to keep mould out mean the E400Hs, 20348 and 20698 might still be in service on schools from September?

As far as I know the ex hybrids aren't going to see the road again with EY, I believe the plan with 348 is for it to become a driver trainer. I doubt 698 will be used again in service by EY given its age

Doors open when a bus has been idle for a while is normal as there's no air or electric getting to them to keep them closed, even on a modern vehicle after a while you can just push them open no problem what so ever.

I've gone out to Fountains Abbey again today, using the extended York-Ripon service. I caught the first 84 from York and noted that destination blinds still haven't been updated, with only a week and a bit left I doubt EY will bother programming Fountains Abbey into the system, but the bus showed Ripon as its final destination the whole time. Impressively, next stop indicators in York have been updated to show Fountains Abbey, as have timetable posters at some bus stops, if only EY had taken the effort to do the same with the destination blind.

I was surprised to see 9 of us continue beyond Ripon to Fountains Abbey, possibly a record as the extension doesn't seem to be well used. The extension seems quite poorly promoted, timetable posters in Ripon haven't been updated and only show DalesBus 820 & 822 along with Procters 139 as options to get to Fountains Abbey. Hopefully the service returns next year with some better promotion.

To contrast this, I used the X81 last Sunday and was delighted to see 17 people onboard leaving Castle Howard at 15:35. By the time we got to Stonebow, 19 people were onboard. It seems like a well used service, reflected by EY extending the service until 1 November (end of October Half-Term holidays). I would love to see the service return next year, it seems to have been a success this year!

Some of the GNE loans are still at Anlaby Road, the BZL is still there as well as far as I know

Yes there's some ex-Brighton & Hove Hybrids conversions that still aren't in service, along with some ex-Go North East examples.
