It would make a difference if the ticket wasn't valid in zone 1.

Is it not valid if you are passing through en route to/from Moorgate though?

Presumably only valid if travelling into Moorgate via Drayton Park / Old Street.

The Elizabeth line opening has made things even more confusing, because it is a National Rail service despite what TfL sometimes want you to believe.
Are there any easements preventing a London Thameslink ticket being used Cambridge - Liverpool St - Farringdon - Blackfriars? (Regardless as to what the answer to this question is, I'd imagine that there would be issues at the gateline)
