Birmingham International - station car park

Hello all, we're making a family trip to London tomorrow. Stupidly I didn't book the car park when I booked the rail tickets, and only just went to do it - and the Avanti website is telling me car park pre-booking is now sold out, although "spaces may be available on the day."

Does anyone have much experience with this car park and know how likely it is to be full at 6:15am tomorrow? We're on the 6:39 Avanti departure and I'm wondering whether we'll be ok, or whether I need to come up with a contingency plan such as parking at the NEC for the day (the website for which is giving me a headache.) I'm concerned because it's peak holiday season and have seen daily how rammed the airport is at peak times - and the station can be a much better value option than the airport car parks for short trips, meaning it might be full of air passengers' cars as well.

Would appreciate any thoughts! Kicking myself for not booking sooner.

There is no chance it will be full at that time in the morning.

Agreed. Zero chance it'll be full. It used to be my local WCML station.

And mine! (Kind of), but that was before the Multi Storey.

If you havent been for a while, beware that the car park entrance is not particularly well signposted. At least not to Mrs BR when she went a couple of weeks back and called me for help. (How I was supposed to help from 100 miles away, other than say ‘look for the signs’ I’ll leave you to work out).

Ha! Thanks. It’s ok, I’m familiar with the area (BHX-based crew!) so know my way around reasonably well.

No doubt I’ll take a wrong turn tomorrow morning now I’ve said that…
