Hello, I have a Southampton - Eastbourne off peak return for tomorrow (18 Aug). Due to the landslip I see that my train has a revised arrival time around 30 minutes later than when I first bought the ticket.

May I know if that qualifies me for a delay repay claim? Thanks.

I personally would argue yes, but the train operator (GTR) may disagree!

I would pop in a claim anyway - if, indeed, you are delayed by 30+ mins in the event.

(There have been various debates about this previously; I am aware some others believe that TOCs have the right to refuse such claims, but - having carefully considered all the arguments on many previous occasions - I am not budging in my opinion that they do not!)

Thanks, I am inclined to feel the same. Just posted here seeing if there are any previous examples of incidences like mine that I could possibly refer to, or specific wordings in the bylaws that would push the decision either way.

There's a 12x bus service from outside Brighton station stop B5 to Eastbourne every 12 mins or so. It takes the same time as the stopping train service roughly. Just In case things go wrong. Better scenery than the train.

The bylaws don't have anything to do with delay repay, your entitlement to this is part of the customer contract. This explicitly says no, but your mileage may vary when making a claim. I expect the TOC to decline it at first.
