They did some training runs - I caught the sleeper rake at MKC with a 57 at each end and caught an 800 on Bletchley flyover.

These diversions will be running before the normal passenger service at this rate. I wonder if they are open to MKC > Oxford passengers?

GWR will be using it in November and for the OOC/Dolphin blockade over Christmas/New Year. They aren't open to MKC or Oxford passengers.

Whilst I'd assume 2 tph is the maximum into Euston given WCML capacity, could any more services be diverted into Milton Keynes Central?
The use of platform 2 and 5 at Milton Keynes for the reversals already looks fairly tight without being able to run additional services there.

Platform 2 is alternately occupied by LNR Euston to Milton Keynes terminating trains, and the GWR reversals, with only three minutes gap for reoccupation.

The riviera beds are going via Ascot that weekend as well

A nice PSUL (Passenger Services over Unusual Lines) move; a bit expensive and time consuming, though cheaper than the Belmond British Pullman. :D

3 minutes is standard platform reoccupation for everywhere to be fair.

They must have preferred it to turning off at Bicester and running to Marylebone.
I don't think they are cleared past South Ruislip.
Either way, there is no capacity for them in the terminal.
And may or may not able to fit a whole 10 car in and clear and be able to dispatch it again, in 1 (single) platform at Marylebone.

.... some rare track there on the NW side of the Kew triangle -, an expensive way of getting the rare track though as you would need to book from Taunton. And ytou wouldn't see much in the wee small hours in November.

Note only the up working on Friday night and the down one on Sunday night will take that routing

If they’re going as far as Brentford, is there a good reason not to carry on into Waterloo?

I think it would be a bit confusing, and perhaps awkward to cover from a staff on the ground point, to have the sleeper run from Waterloo and everything else over the weekend from Euston.

Yes, I suppose that makes sense.

If the normal Oxford -MK services were up and running, would there be route capacity between Bicester Village and Oxford to fit them and the GWR diversions and Chiltern services?
The level crossing barriers at Bicester Village would be permanently down at that rate with the long time between them closing and a train actually passing!

Yes, it was accounted for.

And yes, LC downtown time would be adversely affected.
They know it needs to close with EWR services operating, and another 4 tph on top would, as you suggest, have it down constantly (or very near).

For November is it as E-W won't be there, over Xmas chances are that if Chiltern start running, then it would be 1tph.

The fastest time from Brentford to London Waterloo is 29 minutes by a South Western train. The time from Brentford to London Euston by the Great Western sleeper is only 25 minutes.

Brentford to Waterloo would be somewhat quicker than 29 minutes on the sleeper, as it wouldn't have to make eight intermediate stops.

Richmond to Waterloo is a similar distance and takes only twenty minutes, with two stops.

And if it was going to Waterloo it wouldn't have to go via Brentford anyway - the route via Twickenham is 2km shorter
