Peschiera Del Garda to Verona and Brescia sanity check

Hi,
Shortly heading to Peschiera del Garda and will definitely be using the train from there to both Verona and Brescia (and back from both) - can I sanity check some questions?
I have the Trenitalia app and have an account set up so I can log in - my intention is to use regional trains for any and all journeys as cheaper.
Am I right that the regional trains from Pescheria are operated by Trenord and, if so, is it still advisable to buy the tickets on the Trenitalia app?
Talking of the app, I assume a ticket purchased comes up like a qr code or barcode to be scanned at ticket gates or by inspectors - can I have tickets for both myself and my wife on my app or does she need her own one?
Does an in app ticket need validated before travel (or after travel!)?

Trenitalia app is easy to use, ticket offices can be slow. You can purchase multiple tickets on the app. No validation required for online tickets. I'm looking forward to my holiday in Peschiera in three weeks time.
