Pendolino power stoppages

I travelled on 8.14 Manchester P - Euston on Sat 15/8. After leaving Rugby as normal we drifted to a halt at Blisworth. The aircon had cut out and the lights dimmed. A northbound Pendolino stopped alongside us. After about 5 minutes we moved on at a normal pace. The train manager said there had been a 'power outage' and after a reset all was well.

Odd I thought but must be some local outage.

However, returning on the 17.52 on 16/8 the same happened again just south of Congleton!

I've never experienced this before.

Any ideas on the cause?

Could it just have been a circuit breaker that tripped? Maybe there is some sort of fault on the train that is tripping it.

Sounds likely. Different sets mind - 9 car going south, 11 car going north.
