Decided on a trip to the SVR yesterday as there currently a steam ban there.
D1015, D1062, D9551 & 50049 were out supplying the entertainment

Normally we head to Kidderminster but I decided to drive to Bridgenorth for the class 14 which we enjoyed to Arley.

A quick pit stop for a brew & food & we caught 50049 back to Bridgenorth.
The flattening of Eardington bank was entertaining but well within the capabilities of the loco even with load 8 on.

Took loads of photos of 50049 upon arrival & then headed back the 70 odd miles home.

£22 (member rates) for a mini diesel gala!
Good value even though we only had the two locos & we went home happy.
Didn’t seem that many about so whether the lack of steam had an impact I don’t know.
The only service that seemed busy was the 50 hauled one.
Passing D1015 at Hampton Loade & D1062 at Highley there didn’t seem too many people aboard.

All in all though not a bad day

Sundays are quieter days even with steam. Quite a few get off Highley to visit the Engine House so you might have missed the main crowd.
