So that I can try to avoid in future does anybody know what group of ? supporters ?this train was carrying? After a day at Imber yesterday I arrived at Bath Spa to return to London. At Bath Spa to give credit to staff they made announcement that the train was very crowded and that passengers for Chippenham and Swindon would be advised to catch a later train and ticket acceptance was in place. I moved up the platform and managed to find a First Class vestibule to stand in I assume First had been declassified as it was full with many standing passengers. Last year at the same time returning from Imber, I luckily managed to to find a seat but was subject to very rowdy behaviour sing with one person who spend most of the journey banging his fist on the ceiling of the carriage in time to the singing.

Grumpy old man rant over, this would appear to be an annual event so to avoid in the future it would be helpful to know details to try to avoid in future. I was just glad I hadn't paid for a Seatfrog upgrade.

The supporters were (based on their chanting) Millwall supporters, travelling back from a match against Bristol City. I was on the same train (albeit at the rear), also travelling to London after going to Imber, so can fully sympathise with you.

Bristol City vs Milwall game, where Milwall won 2-0. Difficult to avoid as it wouldn't be on the same date every year, so unavoidable without checking the football fixtures prior to travelling.

Sounds like it was quite tame compared to the stories I've heard and my own experience with Milwall fans!

The OP got off lightly. Services from Bristol to London later on were severely disrupted by a sad incident near Taunton and some other problems.
