Yes, you can. Although the last journeys of the night don't return to the city centre.

I was helping a friend make a video about the Clyde Fastlink's history a couple weeks ago, and we noticed that (more than anything else) the unreliability and confusing nature of operation for the X19 was acting to push people towards the 23 services more than anything else.

Service 540 has been reinstated from November. Running hourly, funding only lasts until the end of March.

1/8/26: One of the Clydeflyer citaros (working the X7) smashed into the back of a car earlier today at the A737-M8 junction.

Details of the new 540 service, and the enhancements to the 49 along with the new 49A evening journeys, are now available on the website and app.

New Service 540​

Mon 2nd Nov onwards
Thanks to funding from the Transport to Employment programme, SPT have awarded us a contract to operate service 540 for an initial period of 21 weeks. This new route will provide a direct link between Inverclyde Hospital and Gourock town centre via Midton up to every 40 minutes during the day on Monday to Saturday.

Extra morning and evening journeys​

Sun 1st Nov onwards
Thanks to funding from the Transport to Employment programme, SPT have awarded us a contract to provide some extra morning and evening journeys on service 49 for an initial trial period of 21 weeks. There will also be a new 49A service operating on Monday to Saturday evenings, which will follow the same route as the 49 but omit North Pollok.

Interesting the 49 got extra journeys. I think the 374 also got a boost in the evening and probably reflects Silverburn is actually busy then!
