Is it really that difficult and expensive to fit storage for bikes!? I don't think it takes much to fit an external rack to the rear of the vehicle. Arriva did this for the Nottingham University buses and they're the exact same vehicle type, and Cardiff bus used to use a mini trailer back in the day, so I thought it would be quite easy and cheap to do, even if demand is fairly lowThis might clarify the answers given by other members:

The bike racks installed on the 69/20 plate MMCs are internal, taking up space that could either be used for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Evidently, EY thinks installing a second wheelchair space is more worthwhile than retrofitting bike racks instead of a wheelchair space.

They don't, anyone who turned up with a bike to an X46 with one of those two allocated to it had to be turned away.
Is that because they weren't originally ordered for the X46 and were repainted into EastRider at a later date?
Would imagine so, internally those two are still the same spec as the other YX69 MMCs. If I remember rightly they were repainted/rebranded because of the PVR increase necessitated from when the X46 went half-hourly.

They still have internal branding for Castle Hill Hospital/University services with route numbers that no longer exist plus adverts for a £13 Hull weekly ticket which is more than a few years out of date!
They need to wait until dynamic stickers become a thing if you ask me
20929 still has internal branding for the 46 from York to Holme On Spalding Moor which hasn't run in that form for years!

BusTimes admin still haven’t removed the withdrawn vehicles, yet the edits have been pending since the post stating they were withdrawn. Maybe they don’t want to remove them for nostalgia reasons but does seem very strange

Like with anything that gets new staff members, the sites mods are changing and being more strict, like even when the 26 plates started tracking it was a fight to get them to approve edits that were clearly true.
I did use to have privileges to accept or deny edits and had the ability to make multiple edits which would auto accept at the same time. However this privilege has long gone.
I find it irritating how they rejected edits for the new buses for X46 just cos they quoted BLOTW in the edits and BLOTW doesnt do liveries, but cmon doesnt take a genius to know that companies often mass paint batches of buses into the same livery. Its stupid at times imo, it turns what should be a site for transport tracking into a courtroom
