Six cancellations on the Glasgow to London route today and the odd one yesterday. l Is there any particular reason for this ? Has the Manchester power incident had knock on effects ?

This total unwillingness or just flat out inabilty for the powers that be to properly sort it out is why the WCML is never the first option for me for cross-border travel at the weekends regardless if it's land or air-based.

I understand that this is a specific case and of course won't apply to everyone, but if I'm only needing to get as far as Carlisle and despite it's own issues, comparative infrequency and the fact iron-boarded 156s are the sole traction, ScotRail on the Glasgow South Western is getting my business 99% of the time. Prime among my reasons for this is the simple fact the GSW timetable doesn't collapse with monotonous regularity every weekend due to a lack of RDW staff.
