Saw a rather ambiguous post declaring it was the locos “last shift” at the Cambrian Heritage Railway at the weekend just gone.

Anybody got any gen?

Have you contacted the Cambrian Heritage Trust. I expect they would know its fate.

73129 now back in service at Cambrian Heritage Railways. :D

The out of use period was due to a change of ownership (It previously being owned by one individual). CHR had to wait for the sale to complete and a new loan agreement negotiated with the new owners (English Electric Preservation).

(With apologies for the delayed reply, obviously the news was embargoed while negotiations were in progress)

Scroll down to 'class 25s and the Willesden-Norwood-Willesden freights 1978-1979'. A detailed list of observations by one person at Clapham Junction, including every class 73. Not much in relation to 129 as such, but a small window in to the type of workings the small ED's were used for back then.
